London Bridge Station is being transformed as part of the Thameslink programme to increase capacity on London’s rail network. It will also play an important role in the revitalisation of London Bridge Quarter, which includes the Shard and the Place, adjacent to the station.

From 2018, up to 75m passengers a year will be able to travel through London’s oldest railway station. The project’s lead design consultant, WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff in joint venture with Hyder, is working with Network Rail and Costain to increase track capacity from six to nine ‘through’ platforms and create an expansive new concourse with extensive new retail facilities.
